I am Nordia McNish, a Jamaican-born author, outpatient therapist, and advocate. My work brings together lived experience and professional practice to examine identity, belonging, and the choices that shape our lives.
Through writing and mental-health education, I make room for difficult questions: What have we learned to believe about ourselves? What are we carrying? And what becomes possible when we begin to examine it?
I believe reflection can help us recognize where we have agency—and decide how we want to use it.
Stories, reflective questions, and conversations that make space for a fuller understanding of ourselves.

Poems and Reflections
A collection exploring resilience, identity, and healing. These poems draw on lived experience and clinical insight, inviting readers to examine what they carry and how they understand themselves.
“Within each of us lies a tapestry.”
By Nordia McNish
Meet Maya and Zoe in stories about friendship, reaching out, and being honest about how we feel.
For children and the adults who support them. These episodes include conversations about emotional distress and thoughts of not wanting to be here. Watch together and make space to talk afterward.
When a message from Zoe worries Maya, she reaches out to the school counselor. A story about telling a trusted adult when a friend needs help.
A story that invites us to look beyond a familiar answer and make room for a more honest conversation about feelings.
A starting point for conversation: What could make it easier to tell a trusted adult when something feels too big to handle alone?
Give yourself a moment to consider what comes up. You do not have to solve everything to notice something worth examining.
These reflection prompts are for general education and personal exploration. They are not therapy or individualized clinical advice. Your responses stay with you; this page does not collect them.
